The Chobe region is home to the largest population of elephant in the world. Often their daily passage takes them from Zimbabwe through the Chobe and on into Namibia before returning. Elephant Valley Lodge lies along one of these main routes and is situated in the Kasane Forest, which is adjacent to the Chobe National Park.

Aside from the main lodge area which lies beneath a forest of sturdy knob thorns, there are several other open guest areas, a secluded hide, a refreshing swimming pool and, in terms of accommodation, 20 Meru-style tents.
