Nevertheless, there are many guesthouses in Gaborone and other towns across Botswana.

These are almost exclusively family run and offer varying degrees of comfort and quality of accommodation.

As a general rule, guests get what they pay for and this should be the guiding principal when booking such accommodation.

But overall the standard is high and the welcome warm.
