Bus operator goes from strength to strength Seabelo’s Express is owned by Kenneth Seabelo Tlhaselo. Starting in 1977 with just one minibus, the company has grown into a nationwide operator with bus and truck services covering most of Botswana. In 1987, after 10 years of running just minibuses, the company was formally incorporated as Seabelo’s Express (Pty) Ltd. Initially, it operated only on the Ramotswa (Mr Tlhaselo’s home village) and Gaborone route. Later, the company invested in a larger, 25-seat bus and services were extended to the Gaborone-Lobatse route. Fleet Today, Seabelo’s Express has 36 semi luxury buses & 5 luxury coaches with the following features: fully air conditioned, reclining seats, toilet, TV/DVD player and radio/CD player (luxury coaches managed by Seabelo Travel & Tours). The company employs over 200 people and in addition to Gaborone, Ramotswa and Lobatse, it operates on routes serving Francistown, Maun, Ghanzi and Selibe-Phikwe. A separate truck division, Seabelo’s Carriers, operates a fleet of about 20 trucks and employs 23 people. |
